DISASTER PREPAREDNESS WORKSHOP SPONSORED BY AARP

Western Catskills CRC recently held a Disaster Preparedness Workshop at the Gathering Place in Oneonta led by our HUD certified Housing and Financial Counselor Eileen Knott. This event is part of a ongoing series free to the public and sponsored by AARP’s Community Challenge Grant.  In addition to a riveting presentation on how to prepare for natural or unexpected disasters, participants received a go bag filled with essentials need in an emergency such as hygiene kits, rain poncho, mylar blanket, first aid supplies, flashlight, whistle, MRE and water. Attendees also entered in a raffle to win an emergency hand crank radio and life straw for safe water drinking.
