Read Fact Sheets carefully for a full understanding of grant regulations. Each grant has very specific parameters and differences, particularly in the lien period from 3-10 years.
Fill out application completely, listing all members of the household, and have signed by all homeowners listed on the deed.
Gather copies of all documents listed on Document Checklist. Copies cannot be made at the office, and originals will not be accepted. If you do not have all documents your application is considered incomplete and will be returned.
Call 607-652-2823 ex 107 to make an Intake Appointment at WCCRC’s office in Stamford. Applications and documents will only be accepted at an Intake appointment and thoroughly reviewed for completion by our Program Coordinator. Do not mail, email, fax, or drop off applications and checklist documents.
If after an intake appointment is conducted there are any additional documents that need to be submitted, they can be mailed, emailed, faxed or brought to the office within 15 days of your intake appointment. Failure to do so within this time frame will result in your application being moved to the bottom of the potential project waitlist.
All applicants are required to meet with our HUD certified Housing Counselor to make and review a household budget. This can be conducted during the appointment to save trips to the office, however, please allot 2 hours in your schedule to this complete process.
Once all documentation is received and reviewed, WCCRC’s Project Manager will call to schedule a Home Survey. At that time, they will walk through your home, discuss your concerns, and ascertain potential repairs.
A final review of your application will be conducted by our Executive Director to determine if your project is feasible and within the time/funding constraints of the grant. If approved, you will receive a formal award letter and directions on the next steps.
Please respect our staff through this process. WCCRC has a Zero Tolerance Policy for bullying and harassment of staff. Rude behavior, swearing, threats, or acts of violence will not be tolerated. Anyone giving verbal, written, or physical abuse to staff will be deemed unfit for our programs and removed from the potential project waitlist.
